Research Interests:

Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS); implementation science; data-based decision making in education systems; integration of school mental health and behavioral supports; evaluation of multi-tiered systems of support.


Nichole Fintel serves as the Evaluation Coordinator with Florida鈥檚 Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) Project and has been working with the project since 2018. In this role, she oversees data collection, management, and reporting systems used to support the project and nearly 2,000 participating schools in making data-based decisions to improve behavioral supports and student outcomes. She also serves as an evaluator for additional statewide initiatives focused on school mental health and behavioral health systems.

Previously, Nichole served as a training and technical assistance specialist at the national technical assistance center supporting SAMHSA鈥檚 Healthy Transitions and Project AWARE grantees, where she assisted state and community teams in implementing youth mental health initiatives.
