Faculty and staff from CBCS judge Hillsborough County STEM Fair

CBCS faculty and staff

Volunteer judges from CBCS at the Hillsborough County STEM Fair.

CBCS faculty and staff volunteered as judges at the annual Hillsborough Regional Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) Fair held at the Tampa Convention Center on Feb. 18. They reviewed posters in the behavioral and social sciences category, discussed each project with its presenter, and participated in a brief training session prior to judging.

The event, hosted by Hillsborough County Public Schools, provided students the opportunity to share their projects with subject-matter experts and gain valuable learning experiences. This was an exciting opportunity for young scientists, engineers and inventors to spark interest in research and to recognize these students for their excellent work.

CBCS sponsored the "College of Behavioral & Community Sciences at the University of South Florida Award," which recognizes a student or group of students who best demonstrate critical thinking and research excellence in the behavioral and social sciences category that have real-world applications to safety and well-being for diverse populations and communities.
