USF College of Nursing is happy to welcome -- Principal Investigator as our new Senior Associate Dean for Research.
Misra brings extensive experience in research leadership, public health, and multidisciplinary collaboration. She came to USF from the West Virginia University School of Public Health, where she served as a tenured full professor and PhD program director. Her scholarship and leadership focus on behavioral interventions for chronic disease prevention and management, particularly in rural and underserved populations.
During her doctoral training in health services at Old Dominion University in Virginia, Misra developed strong expertise in health education, behavioral science, and community-based research. This informed her career-long focus on translating research into practice, advancing health equity, and leading multidisciplinary research teams.
Misra has a sustained record of extramural funding from the , , and other federal agencies and foundations. Her work spans clinical and community-based trials, global health initiatives, and innovative low-cost models that leverage community health workers and tailored interventions.
