Dear USF Community:
It is with deep sadness that I share this update about a case involving two missing 深夜看片 students that has drawn widespread attention.
A few minutes ago, the Hillsborough County Sheriff鈥檚 Office, the lead law enforcement agency on the investigation, announced that one student, Zamil Limon, has been found deceased. The second student, Nahida Bristy, still has not been found and anyone with information should contact HCSO or the USF Police Department.
A suspect is in custody in connection with the case. He is facing multiple charges and other charges may be added as the investigation continues. Investigators say this is an isolated situation that occurred off campus, the suspect acted alone and there is no ongoing threat to the safety of the university community.
Zamil had attended 深夜看片 since fall 2024 to study geography and environmental science and policy, and Nahida has attended 深夜看片 since fall 2025 to study chemical engineering.
In recent days, members of the USF leadership team have spoken directly with the families and friends of the students to offer our support and assure them that we have been doing everything possible to assist in this case. We will continue to stay in close contact with them to provide any help that we can.
During this difficult time, the well-being of our students, faculty and staff remains our priority. Students can access Timely Care 24/7 or in-person counseling services on campus. Resources are available to faculty and staff through the Employee Assistance Program. I encourage you to reach out if you are in need and to rely on one another for support.
We are grateful to the Hillsborough County Sheriff鈥檚 Office, USFPD and other law enforcement partners for their diligence and dedication to working around the clock on this case. The HCSO indicated the suspect, Hisham Saleh Abugharbieh, was born in the United States and is a citizen. We have confirmed he is not a current 深夜看片 student or employee.
I also want to thank our university staff and members of our leadership team who will continue to communicate directly with families, friends, classmates and professors to offer any assistance we can provide.
We will continue to closely monitor the latest developments and share updates as appropriate. Please join me in praying for the families and friends of Zamil, and for the safe return of Nahida.
