Sprintax Calculus Support
What is Sprintax Calculus?
USF Payroll uses Sprintax Calculus to determine tax residency status, calculate tax withholding, and meet university tax obligations for international students and scholars at USF. International students and scholars who are employed at USF or who have a taxable scholarship receive an email from noreply-usf@sprintax.com with an activation link for Calculus. Students and scholars should follow the directions in the email to set up and complete the Calculus forms. This allows the university to apply any tax treaties and withhold taxes correctly.

Sprintax Calculus vs. Sprintax Forms
While Sprintax Calculus focuses on helping you understand tax residency and pre-filing calculations, Sprintax Forms is used to actually prepare and file your U.S. tax return with the IRS. In short:
- Sprintax Calculus: Determines residency status and tax withholding.
- Sprintax Forms: Completes and submits your U.S. tax return.
