Lisa Shorts
Assistant Director
Lisa works toward a PhD in History with focus in Digital Humanities and she looks forward to combining her undergraduate and graduate education in History with her extensive IT experience to help expand the vital preservation of cultural heritage.

Sarah Hassam
Senior Staff Member
Sarah is a first year PhD student in History with a concentration in World History before 1500. Her background includes the theatrical arts, with a BFA in Drama from Tisch School of the Arts at NYU and an MA in History from USF. Her interests include digital archaeology, art history and material culture, the history of women, and the history of other marginalized communities in the ancient Mediterranean.

Angela holds a BA in History (Classical Civilization minor) from the University of Rhode Island and an MA in History - Museum Studies from the University of New Hampshire, Her research interests are clothing and textiles, experimental archaeology, and museum studies. She is pursuing a PhD in History with a focus in Digital Humanities.

Aiden is currently pursuing a B.A degree in Biological Anthropology from the University of South Florida. His academic focus is centered on the study of skeletal trauma and pathology. With a passion for osteology and technology, Aiden is dedicated to telling stories that would otherwise remain untold

Ryan Hom

Ryan holds a MA in History from 深夜看片. His research interests include War and Society in the Ancient World, Classical Reception, and the Pedagogical/Public Facing Applications of the Digital Humanities.

Kevin Gallagher
Intern, PhD student (History)
Kevin holds a MA and BA in History from the University of North Carolina Wilmington. His research interests are focused on Roman power, concepts of traditional authority, and cultural hybridization in the provinces.

Aubrey Dockins
Intern, BA Student (Anthr./History)
Aubrey is in her third year at the 深夜看片, where she is currently pursuing a dual degree in Anthropology and History, with a minor in astronomy. She is interested in bioarcheology, in addition to digital reconstructions of the past. She intends to pursue a career at a historical museum, after attending graduate school.

Julia Simecek

Julia is currently working towards obtaining a BA in History. She plans to graduate from USF in 2026 and hopes to continue her education with an MA in Library and Information Science. Her passion is in preservation and intends to become an archivist in the future to help make materials more easily accessible.

Katherine Wise
Intern, BA student (History)
Katherine is currently working on obtaining a BA in History major, with minors in English and Communications. She plans on graduating from USF in 2027. She is particularly interest in ancient Greco-Roman history and is hoping to become an archivist in the future.

Lisa Goswick
Intern, BA Student (Anthropology)
Lisa is currently pursuing a BA in Anthropology with a minor in History. Her academic interest is focused on the avenues of ancient trade, foodways, and healing practices, exploring the exchanges, influences, and the correlated material culture throughout history. Her goal is to share these interdependent stories through Applied Anthropology, digital accessibility, and community engagement.

Jameez is a senior completing a BA in Art History. Her interests focus on using digital technology to support research for students, scholars, and cultural鈥慼eritage professionals by expanding global access to the cultural heritage and stories of underrepresented communities.

Diego Santiago-Colon

Diego is a junior at USF pursuing a B.A. in History and planning to minor in Classics. He also have interests in Anthropology. He'll continue my education at USF for my master's in history. His academic interests are in Greek and Roman history, archaeology, and language.

Evan Dobryy
Intern, BA Student (Anthropology)
Evan is a a double degree freshman student majoring in Anthropology and Geology, as well as minoring in History. He has been an avid history fanatic since the age of 7, especially interested in early Christian history and the Mongol Empire. He's hoping to one day become an archaeologist specializing in Early Christianity and Roman-Judean interactions.

Mina is a sophomore pursuing a B.A. in Anthropology. Her interests include archaeology, digital archaeology, restoration, and museum studies. As a professional photographer and filmmaker, she aims to apply visual media to support archaeological research and the documentation of historical materials. Mina鈥檚 work is not geographically constrained; she has created documentary films and photographs for archaeological projects.

Rose Lopez
Volunteer, MA Student (Library and Information Science)
Rose is a MA student in Library and Information Science. Her research interests involve digital curation, museum work, and religious cultural artifacts. She hopes to use the knowledge she learned to further her career in museum work at her job working in the archives at the Ybor City Museum Society.

Elissia is set to obtain in the Spring a Master's Degree in History with a capstone project in comparative food history entitled "What鈥檚 for Dinner? It Depends on your Empire. Bread, Pork, and Imperial Governance in Early Imperial Rome and Nineteenth-Century France".
