Online MA in ABA
Fieldwork

The USF Online MA in ABA program requires students to complete BACB fieldwork hours under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). USF follows the Concentrated Supervised Fieldwork Requirements of the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB fieldwork requirements can be found at ).
Students are required to accrue 1,500 total hours of Concentrated Supervised Fieldwork experience during the program to meet graduation requirements. To graduate in five semesters, students need to accrue roughly 17 to 20 hours per week of supervised experience hours during the duration of the program.
Applicants who do not have a fieldwork site may contact Dr. Brianna Laureano for assistance with fieldwork placements.
AGENCY & BCBA SUPERVISOR APPROVAL process
- Students should feel confident that qualified agencies and appropriately credentialed BCBA supervisors meet program standards. The program works collaboratively with students to ensure alignment with university and certification requirements. The review process is designed to confirm training quality, not to create unnecessary barriers.
- Admitted students will be contacted by the Online MA Practicum Coordinator shortly after receiving their admission decision to initiate the agency and supervisor approval process. There is no need to contact USF regarding approvals.
- All incoming students must secure a qualified fieldwork site and a BCBA supervisor prior to starting the Online MA in Applied Behavior Analysis program. Fieldwork may not begin until both the agency and supervisor have been reviewed and approved by USF ABA faculty.
- Students are responsible for identifying potential agencies and supervisors. Supervision hours may not be accrued until approval is granted.
- Students may change fieldwork sites or BCBA supervisors prior to beginning the program or at any point during the MA ABA program. Any new agency or supervisor must be submitted for review and approved before supervision hours resume.
